Project Brief

This project captures the raw energy of Bengaluru’s street dance scene, weaving through crowded markets, tech parks, and colonial-era lanes. Dancers will perform original choreography at iconic spots like Commercial Street, Cubbon Park, and KR Market, while interviews with local b-boys and b-girls reveal the city’s underground dance culture. The result is a vibrant short film that celebrates both movement and metropolis. What makes this unique is the fusion of classical Bharatanatyam gestures with modern hip-hop, choreographed to a soundtrack mixing traditional Kannada folk beats with electronic music. The team will collaborate with a local musician to create an original score, and a fashion stylist will design costumes inspired by Bengaluru’s silk sarees and streetwear. This project is perfect for a dancer, videographer, and editor to create a portfolio piece that stands out in festivals. It leverages the trend of location-based performance art and the growing interest in Indian street culture.
