This project is a visual love letter to Manchester's most creative district, the Northern Quarter. We'll explore its famous street art, independent shops, and bustling nightlife, but through a unique lens. The team will use long-exposure photography and digital manipulation to transform familiar landmarks like Afflecks Palace, Stevenson Square, and the many colorful murals into a neon-soaked, dreamlike series that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. We'll blend the raw energy of urban life with the precision of modern digital art, creating a collection that highlights the contrast between Manchester's industrial heritage and its vibrant creative present. This isn't just about taking pictures; it's about reimagining the city's visual identity, turning everyday scenes into cinematic, high-art compositions. The final output will be a cohesive series of 10-12 large-format prints and a companion digital zine, suitable for exhibition or an online portfolio. This project leverages the current trends in "neon-noir" aesthetics and 'liminal space' photography, making it a standout piece for any creative's portfolio.
