This project reimagines the vibrant Durbar festival of Ilorin, a traditional horse-riding and cultural display, through a contemporary lens. We will create a live performance featuring local dancers and drummers, enhanced with digital projection mapping on a stage set, and film it for an online release. The performance will take place at the Emir's Palace courtyard, a historic site that adds authenticity and grandeur. By fusing traditional Ilorin cultural elements with cutting-edge digital art, we aim to showcase the city's rich heritage in a new and exciting way, appealing to both local and international audiences. The final film will be a portfolio piece that highlights the intersection of tradition and technology, and can be submitted to film and arts festivals.
