Project Brief

This project taps into the growing trend of hyperlocal content and community-driven storytelling. Over four weeks, a small team of creatives will produce a series of short-form videos and static posts for Instagram and TikTok, each spotlighting a unique Manchester location, artisan, or cultural spot — from the hidden galleries of the Northern Quarter to the historic markets of Levenshulme. The aim is to celebrate the city’s authentic, lesser-known creative pulse, building a portfolio of engaging, trend-aware content that resonates with both local audiences and the platform’s wider community. The campaign will be built around a cohesive aesthetic: warm, cinematic yet raw, using natural lighting and handheld shots to create intimacy. Each piece will feature a different local personality — a street artist, a vintage shop owner, a musician — blending interview-style clips with b-roll of the space and their craft. The final deliverables will include a branded series trailer, three 60-second vertical videos, and a set of five still images designed for carousel posts, all optimized for mobile-first consumption. What makes this project unique is its focus on authentic representation over polished commercialism, leveraging the team’s combined skills in acting, illustration, and art direction to craft narratives that feel genuine. It’s a chance to build a compelling case study for hyperlocal influencer work and to showcase Manchester’s vibrant creative scene to a broader audience.
