This project is a unique fusion of music and documentary filmmaking, set in the heart of Ilorin, Nigeria. We will create an EP featuring five original tracks, each inspired by a different location in Ilorin, such as the Emir's Palace, Oja Oba market, and the University of Ilorin. The music will blend traditional Yoruba rhythms, Fulani melodies, and contemporary Afrobeat, with lyrics in Yoruba, English, and Pidgin. Alongside the music, we will produce a visual album: a series of short films that showcase the recording process, the city's vibrancy, and the stories behind each song. This project is not just about creating music; it's about archiving the sonic identity of Ilorin and sharing it with the world. It's a chance to collaborate with local musicians, storytellers, and visual artists, creating a piece that is both deeply rooted in Ilorin's culture and universally appealing.
