This project captures the ephemeral beauty of the Harmattan season in Ilorin, using the dry, dusty air and golden light as a natural filter. We will create a cohesive editorial series (photo and short film) featuring local fashion that merges traditional Yoruba fabrics—like aso-oke and adire—with contemporary silhouettes. The concept explores contrast: the warmth of community against the quiet decay of colonial-era buildings, the roughness of laterite streets against the fluidity of silk and cotton. Shooting on location at Ilorin's Emir's Palace, the historic Oloje Hills, and the vibrant Oja-Oba market, the project will highlight the city's understated elegance. The team will work with emerging Ilorin designers, local tailors, and models to produce 8-10 final editorial images and a 2-minute atmospheric film. The unique visual style will embrace the natural grain and soft contrast of the Harmattan light, creating a timeless, cinematic feel that stands out in any portfolio.
