Inspired by the pulse of New York City, this project aims to create a large-scale mural series across an unused or underutilized subway station platform. Each mural panel will represent a different borough, blending iconic landmarks like the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, and Coney Island with abstract expressions of movement and sound—capturing the essence of the city's underground rhythm. The team will work with stencils, spray paint, and mixed media to produce a cohesive visual journey that commuters can experience daily. What makes this project unique is the use of augmented reality (AR) triggers embedded in the murals. Using a mobile app, viewers can point their phones at specific elements to see animated overlays, hear ambient sounds from each borough, or watch short video loops. This fusion of traditional street art with digital interactivity positions the project at the forefront of contemporary public art trends, while deeply rooting it in New York's iconic transit culture. The final outcome will not only beautify a public space but also serve as a portfolio piece demonstrating large-scale production, community engagement, and innovative use of technology. The murals will be documented professionally for online galleries and social media, generating buzz and potential future commissions.
