This project captures the soul of Ilorin, known as the City of Scholars, through a series of striking, high-contrast images. We will explore the city's iconic landmarks like the Ilorin Emir's Palace, the ancient Oke Oyi hills, and the bustling Ilorin Central Market. The concept merges traditional architecture and cultural motifs with contemporary portraiture, creating a narrative that honors the past while embracing the present. The final series will be edited by a skilled editor to achieve a consistent moody, yet vibrant aesthetic, reminiscent of photographers like Akinbode Akinbiyi or the modern style of Afro-minimalism. Each image will tell a story of resilience, faith, and the everyday beauty of life in this historic city. The project is designed to be a powerful portfolio piece for the editor, showcasing their ability to shape a cohesive visual story from raw footage and stills. It will be published as a digital photo essay and a curated set of prints suitable for exhibition or a high-end zine.
