Project Brief

This project taps into Bengaluru's thriving street art culture and its beloved Namma Metro system. 'Namma Metro Mural' is a 3-week live art event where a team of illustrators and graphic designers will create a large-scale, site-specific mural installation at the MG Road Metro station. The concept is 'Bengaluru in Motion'—a visual tapestry that merges the city's iconic landmarks (Vidhana Soudha, Lalbagh's Glass House, the Cubbon Park canopy) with motifs of rapid transit, tech culture, and the diverse people who power the city. The mural will be a dynamic, multi-panel work that wraps around a designated wall space, turning a daily commute into an immersive art experience. What makes this unique is the live, interactive element. Over three weekends, the artists will paint in public view, inviting passersby to contribute small 'wish tags'—written messages of their Bengaluru memories and aspirations—which will be incorporated into the mural as graphic elements. This transforms the project from a solo artistic statement into a collective community chronicle. The final piece will be a striking blend of bold illustration, graphic design patterns, and typography, documented via time-lapse and social media to create a lasting digital portfolio piece. The event also aligns with the city's push for public art initiatives, making it a culturally relevant and newsworthy project.
