Launch on day 29
This project bridges two distinct musical identities: Hull's rugged, salt-crusted folk and electronic scenes, and London's cutting-edge, genre-fluid studio culture. The team will produce a 4-track EP that sonically maps the journey from Hull's historic Fish Market to London's rooftop studios in Hackney. Each track will be paired with a short visualizer shot on location, using natural sound design—clattering docks, Thames tide, Humber foghorns—as rhythmic foundations. What makes this unique is the live collaboration between remote and studio musicians: Hull's folk singers and brass bands will be sampled and looped, while London producers add synth layers and digital manipulation. The final deliverable is not just a release, but a 'sonic postcard' that captures the energy of two cities in transition—post-industrial Hull and hyper-urban London. The project leverages the current trend of 'place-based' music that celebrates local character while embracing global production techniques.
