This project transforms a Manchester rooftop into a dynamic, after-dark performance and visual art space. Inspired by the city’s industrial heritage and its vibrant Northern Quarter street art scene, the event features a live theatre actor performing a bespoke, site-specific monologue about the city’s evolution. Simultaneously, an illustrator creates a large-scale, real-time mural capturing the performance and audience interaction. An art director oversees the spatial design, lighting, and atmospheric elements, ensuring the rooftop becomes a living canvas. The evening is designed as an intimate, ticketed experience (limited to 50 guests) with a DJ set and local drinks. The unique cross-disciplinary collaboration produces a portfolio-worthy event that merges storytelling, visual art, and atmosphere, capturing Manchester’s creative spirit in a single night. This project is achievable with a core team of three to five creatives over three weeks, offering a powerful demonstration of collaborative, live, and site-specific work.
