This project taps into the vibrant, often overlooked pockets of Manchester's creative community. We'll produce a short-form video series (5-7 episodes) that profiles unique local artists, makers, and spaces—from a secret tattoo studio in the Northern Quarter to a community garden turned performance space in Hulme. The series aims to capture the raw, authentic energy of Manchester's DIY culture, blending intimate interviews with stylized B-roll of the city's iconic architecture and street art. What makes this unique is the format: each episode will be a self-contained 'mini-doc' optimized for Instagram Reels and TikTok, with a cohesive visual style that feels both gritty and polished. We'll leverage the city's distinct neighborhoods as characters themselves, using dynamic transitions and a custom soundscape to create a sense of place. The final output will be a cohesive series that can be published as a carousel or playlist, showcasing Manchester as a living, breathing creative hub. The project is designed for a small, agile team: a content creator/host, a videographer/editor, a sound designer/musician, and a graphic designer for thumbnails and social assets. The timeline is tight but achievable, with pre-production focusing on location scouting and narrative arcs, production capturing real-time interactions, and post-production crafting a polished, trend-forward aesthetic.
