This project creates a unique, simultaneous performing arts experience that physically and thematically connects Hull and London. Two small troupes of performers will stage identical yet locally-inflected 30-minute promenade performances. The narrative follows a 'Everyperson' character on a quest, with the audience guided through a series of vignettes at specific landmarks. The twist: the London performance incorporates elements of Hull's maritime history and resilience, while the Hull performance references London's global influence and pace, creating a dialogue between the cities. What makes this unique is its dual-city, real-time nature. Using simple live-stream elements (tablets held by performers), key moments will be broadcast between locations, allowing each audience to briefly witness the parallel action 200 miles away. This leverages the trend for hyper-local, immersive theatre and digital-physical hybrid experiences. The project is designed to be low-budget but high-impact, using found spaces, minimal props, and the inherent drama of the urban environments.
