This project invites a small team of musicians, sound designers, and visual artists to collaborate on a unique EP that captures the essence of New York City's underground transit network. We will record field audio—train screeches, platform announcements, busker performances, and the murmur of commuters—and transform these raw elements into a cohesive musical piece, layering them with original instrumentation and vocals to create tracks that feel both futuristic and intimately familiar. The result is a portfolio-worthy sonic exploration that turns the daily grind into art. Our creative process will involve multiple expeditions into the subway system, from the historic Grand Central Terminal to the vibrant murals of the 167th Street station. Each recording session will be a collaborative adventure, sparking improvisations that we will later refine in the studio. The final product will be a visual album or animated video for one or two tracks, using motion graphics and archival footage to enhance the auditory experience. This project is about celebrating the overlooked beauty in our urban environment and creating a piece of art that resonates with anyone who has ever navigated the city's veins.
