Launch on social media and portfolio
This project is a short, atmospheric film that captures the unique energy of Manchester's Northern Quarter. We'll move beyond the typical tourist views to document the area's raw, creative spirit—from the independent record shops and vintage boutiques to the hidden alleyways covered in street art. The film will contrast the area's industrial heritage with its modern, bohemian pulse, using a combination of slow-motion street photography, intimate interviews with local creatives, and dynamic drone shots of the iconic rooftops. What makes this project unique is its focus on the 'in-between' moments: the steam rising from a coffee cart on a cold morning, a musician setting up in a doorway, the quiet hum of a screen printing studio. The final piece will feel like a love letter to the city, designed to be shared on social media as a portfolio piece that showcases a director's ability to find narrative in everyday life. It's achievable within a month, requiring a small, dedicated crew to capture the essence of this ever-evolving neighbourhood.
