This project invites the team to explore Manchester's industrial heart through sound and vision, focusing on the iconic Castlefield Viaduct and the newly revitalised Mayfield neighbourhood. The vision is to create a short-form documentary-style content series for Instagram and TikTok that captures the acoustic fingerprint of these spaces—from the rumble of passing trams to the whispers of street performers. The concept is to pair ambient field recordings with bespoke illustrations and live performance. A theatre actor will narrate a poetic script inspired by local history, while an illustrator sketches vignettes in real-time. An art director will oversee the visual language, ensuring a cohesive, atmospheric aesthetic. The result will be a scroll-stopping series that promotes Manchester's creative soul and the potential of its post-industrial landscapes. What makes this unique is the fusion of real-time location sound with artistic interpretation, turning everyday urban noise into a meditative, shareable experience. It aligns with the trend of 'slow content' and place-based storytelling, perfect for audiences craving authentic, sensory connections to the cities they love.
