Launch at end of Week 3
This project reimagines Malta's capital as a living canvas, blending its baroque architecture with contemporary neon aesthetics. Over three weeks, a small team will document and create an immersive visual story, using light painting, projection mapping, and augmented reality to highlight the city's timeless beauty. The final output will be a series of striking photographs and an AR experience that can be viewed on smartphones, offering a new perspective on heritage sites like St. John's Co-Cathedral and the Upper Barrakka Gardens. What makes this unique is the fusion of old and new—using Malta's rich history as a backdrop for cutting-edge visual technology. The project leverages the current trend of experiential art and AR filters, creating content that is not only portfolio-worthy but also shareable across social media. The team will collaborate with local historians to ensure cultural sensitivity, while pushing creative boundaries to produce a visual feast that resonates with both locals and tourists.
