Launch on Day 22
This project will create a groundbreaking fashion editorial that bridges Ilorin's rich textile heritage with contemporary Nigerian street style. We'll transform traditional Adire patterns—specifically the locally produced 'Adire Eleko' using cassava paste resist techniques—into modern streetwear pieces, creating a visual narrative about cultural continuity in urban Nigeria. The series will showcase how traditional craftsmanship can evolve to speak to today's youth while maintaining cultural authenticity. What makes this unique is our location-specific approach: we'll collaborate with local Adire artisans from the Oja-Oba market area to source authentic fabrics, then work with Ilorin-based tailors to create the fusion garments. The editorial will be shot across contrasting Ilorin locations—from the ancient Emir's Palace gates to the vibrant Kwara State Stadium complex—creating a visual dialogue between heritage and modernity that's specifically rooted in Ilorin's identity.
