Namma Metro Murals is a public art initiative that turns the everyday commute into an immersive visual experience. By painting a series of interconnected murals across select Namma Metro stations, we aim to showcase the essence of Bengaluru—from its bustling markets to its serene lakes, from its tech hubs to its timeless traditions. The project will engage local artists and the community, creating a sense of ownership and pride in shared spaces. The murals will be designed to reflect the unique character of each station's neighborhood, weaving a narrative that connects the city's past, present, and future. Using a mix of traditional and contemporary styles, the artworks will incorporate elements of Bengaluru's flora and fauna, iconic landmarks, and diverse communities. This project not only beautifies public spaces but also provides a platform for local artists to showcase their talent to a wide audience. What makes this project unique is its integration with the daily lives of Bengaluru's residents. Unlike gallery art, these murals will be encountered by thousands of commuters every day, sparking conversations and fostering a deeper connection to the city. The project also includes digital components, such as QR codes linking to artist interviews and time-lapse videos, bridging the physical and digital realms.
