Launch at end of week 3
This project is a 5-7 minute short film that blends documentary and stylized narrative to capture the essence of Hyderabad's old city after sunset. The film follows a lone wanderer (played by a local actor) through the bustling streets around Charminar, Mecca Masjid, and the Laad Bazaar, using practical neon lights, reflections, and shadow play to create a moody, cinematic portrait. The creative vision is to juxtapose the ancient architecture with modern neon signage and the vibrant energy of night vendors, creating a timeless yet contemporary visual poem. What makes it unique is its hyper-local focus and the use of guerrilla filmmaking techniques to capture authentic moments, combined with a stylized color grade that emphasizes magenta, cyan, and deep blues. The film will be shot entirely at night over a week, leveraging the natural ambiance of the area. This project is perfect for a small, agile team looking to create a portfolio piece that showcases both technical skill and cultural storytelling.
