New York City is a mosaic of lives that come alive when the sun goes down. 'City That Never Sleeps: A Vertical Odyssey' is a 5-episode vertical documentary series (each 3-5 minutes) that intimately follows five distinct night-shift workers across the five boroughs: a subway conductor, a 24-hour diner cook, a Broadway stagehand, a Hunts Point fish market vendor, and an ER nurse. Through their eyes, we experience the city's relentless energy, its hidden rhythms, and the diverse community that keeps it running. Shot entirely in vertical 9:16 format for optimal mobile viewing, the series blends cinema verité with stylized time-lapse and ambient soundscapes to create an immersive, sensory journey. This project is a love letter to the unsung heroes of NYC's nightlife, offering a fresh perspective on familiar streets and a deep dive into the human connections that define the city. It's designed for social media platforms and film festivals, showcasing the power of short-form storytelling.
