Neon Reflections is a collaborative visual arts project that brings together a small team of artists to create three interconnected installations in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. Each installation will be a mixed-media piece incorporating photography, projection, and physical materials, inspired by the unique light and architecture of each city. The New York piece will focus on the verticality and reflective surfaces of skyscrapers, Miami will draw from the vibrant neon and ocean reflections of Ocean Drive, and LA will explore the cinematic light and car culture reflections along the Sunset Strip. The project aims to capture the essence of each city through the lens of reflection, using light as a medium to tell stories of urban life. The team will document the creation process, culminating in a short documentary and a series of prints. The installations will be displayed in local galleries and public spaces, engaging the community and sparking conversations about how we perceive our cities. What makes this project unique is its tri-city approach, leveraging the distinct cultural and visual identities of New York, Miami, and LA to create a cohesive body of work that speaks to the broader American urban experience. The use of light and reflection as a unifying theme allows for a dynamic and immersive viewer experience.
