Project Brief

This project explores the contrasting yet complementary identities of Hull and London as fashion backdrops. We will create a cohesive editorial series that juxtaposes the raw, historic textures of Hull's maritime and industrial architecture with the sleek, modern, and iconic landscapes of London. The narrative will follow a single character or a small cast, whose style evolves from the utilitarian and rugged aesthetics of the north to the haute couture and street-style sophistication of the capital. The project aims to celebrate the diversity of British fashion and place, proving that style is not confined to a single postcode. The shoot will begin in Hull, utilizing locations like The Deep, the historic Old Town, and the Humber Bridge for their dramatic, weathered beauty. The London segment will pivot to spots like the Barbican Centre, the Tate Modern, and the South Bank, capturing the glossy, fast-paced energy of the city. The styling will tell a story of transformation, with each outfit change reflecting a shift in environment and attitude. The final deliverable will be a high-fashion lookbook and a short behind-the-scenes documentary that highlights the creative process and the unique character of each city. What makes this project unique is its deliberate focus on a non-traditional fashion capital (Hull) and its direct, visual comparison with a global hub (London). It challenges the typical fashion narrative and provides a fresh, authentic perspective. This project is perfect for a team looking to build a portfolio with a strong conceptual foundation and visually stunning, location-driven content that can be pitched to fashion magazines, lifestyle brands, or used as a personal branding showcase.
