Project Brief

This project is a dynamic, 5-part short-form documentary series that highlights the vibrant, yet often overlooked, creative community in Ilorin, Kwara State. Each 3-5 minute episode will focus on a different local talent – a fashion designer at the Oja-Oba market, a spoken word poet at the Kwara State University, a tech-savvy graphic artist in the GRA, a traditional textile weaver in Okelele, and a young chef reimagining Ilorin's cuisine. The goal is to showcase the city's rich culture and its convergence with modern creativity, sparking local pride and attracting international attention to Ilorin's growing art scene. Using an authentic, documentary style with cinematic interviews and b-roll, the series will be optimized for YouTube and Instagram Reels, making it highly shareable. The project aims to build a strong portfolio for the editor, demonstrating their ability to craft compelling narratives, manage multi-episode content, and handle diverse subject matter. By leveraging the local landscape – from the historic Ilorin Emirate's Palace to the bustling Kwara State Market – the series will be a unique visual love letter to a city that is often underrepresented in Nigerian media.
