This project turns Bewdley's historic riverfront into a living stage. We will commandeer a traditional Severn barge (or a large pontoon) and moor it at Beales Corner, creating a floating stage that faces the town. The central performance will be a short, site-specific play written and directed by the team, weaving together local folklore, the town's history as a river port, and modern-day community stories. The event will be more than a play: it will be a festival atmosphere with food stalls, local musicians, and interactive elements that encourage audience participation. The goal is to create a vibrant, temporary community hub that celebrates Bewdley's unique identity and enhances its reputation as a cultural destination. By using the river itself as a backdrop, we make the town the star, creating a portfolio piece that demonstrates expertise in location-based, immersive event production.
