Project Brief

This project is a cinematic love letter to London's South Bank, transformed into a surreal stage after sunset. Two performers will use the brutalist architecture of the National Theatre, the glowing curves of the London Eye, and the shimmering reflections on the Thames as their backdrop, creating a dialogue between human movement and the urban landscape. The film will explore themes of isolation, connection, and the city that never sleeps, using a blend of contemporary dance and site-specific choreography. What makes this project unique is its fusion of performance art with cinematic storytelling. Unlike a traditional dance film, it will be an immersive experience, using low-light cinematography and neon accents to create a dreamlike atmosphere. The performers will interact with the environment—leaping from steps, tracing windows with their hands, and pausing under the golden glow of streetlights—inviting viewers to see a familiar London landmark through a new, poetic lens. The final deliverable will be a 3-5 minute short film designed for social media and festival submissions. It's a portfolio piece that demonstrates bold creative vision, technical skill in low-light filming, and the ability to collaborate with performers in unconventional settings. The project is designed to be achievable within 3 weeks with a small crew of 5-6, making it an exciting yet manageable venture.
