This project revitalizes Malta's historic streets by creating an immersive, augmented reality (AR) street art experience. We will identify key underused alleyways in Valletta and Mdina, and collaborate with local artists to design vibrant, neon-inspired murals that are then enhanced with AR animations accessible via a custom mobile app. The project aims to bridge the gap between Malta's rich history and its contemporary creative scene, offering both locals and tourists a unique, interactive way to explore the city. The final output will be a visually stunning, shareable digital campaign that showcases Malta as an innovative cultural hub. What makes this project unique is its fusion of traditional street art with cutting-edge AR technology, creating a 'phygital' experience that is both on-the-ground and online. The campaign will be documented through high-quality photography and video, highlighting the transformation of these spaces and the stories behind the artists. By leveraging social media and influencer partnerships, we will amplify the project's reach, encouraging user-generated content and fostering a sense of community ownership. This project is not only portfolio-worthy but also serves as a model for how cities can engage with public art in the digital age.
