Subway Sessions is a music project that celebrates the vibrant street music culture of New York City. We'll place five talented musicians in different subway stations—from the bustling Times Square to the historic Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall—to perform original compositions that reflect the diverse sounds of the city. Each performance will be professionally recorded and filmed, capturing the unique acoustics and the spontaneous interactions with commuters. The project aims to create a series of live session videos that showcase the raw, unfiltered talent that thrives beneath the streets of NYC. What makes this project unique is its hyper-local focus and the integration of the city's iconic transit system as both stage and character. By leveraging the subway's natural reverb and the constant flow of people, we'll create a sonic and visual experience that could only happen in New York. The final series will be released on YouTube and social media, with the potential for a live showcase event at a local venue.
