This project will create a cohesive photo series and accompanying zine that explores the visual and cultural dialogue between the industrial port city of Hull and the global metropolis of London. The concept is to find parallels in unexpected places: the Humber Bridge and the Thames Barrier, the street art of Hull's Old Town and the murals of Shoreditch, the fishing heritage of Hull and the markets of Billingsgate. Each image will be a diptych or a carefully sequenced pair, inviting the viewer to see both cities anew. What makes this project unique is its focus on the 'everyday' as a form of visual poetry. The team will act as flâneurs, documenting texture, pattern, light, and human activity. The final output will be a limited-edition risograph-printed zine, combining photography with short, evocative text. The project leverages the current trend of 'slow looking' and the enduring appeal of analogue-adjacent processes. It is designed to be a portfolio piece that demonstrates narrative thinking and a distinctive visual voice.
