Project Brief

This project captures the raw, creative energy of Manchester’s Northern Quarter by blending high-fashion editorial with the area’s iconic street art and red-brick architecture. The concept turns the urban landscape into a living runway, where models interact with murals, vintage shopfronts, and steel-framed warehouses. Each look juxtaposes bold textures—leather, lace, neon—against the weathered patina of the city, celebrating Manchester’s unique blend of heritage and rebellion. We’ll scout five distinct locations within the Northern Quarter, from the cobbled lanes of Tib Street to the graffiti walls of Stevenson Square. The shoot will be candid and kinetic, capturing movement and unexpected interactions—a model climbing a fire escape, leaning against a tagged shutter, or walking through the glass arcade of the Afflecks Palace. The final deliverable is a 12-image editorial series, each photo telling a story about the city’s evolving fashion identity. What makes this project unique is its commitment to authentic Manchester style. Instead of imported trends, the wardrobe will be sourced from local vintage shops and emerging designers, showcasing the city’s DIY fashion scene. The team will include a stylist, photographer, and two models, working together to create a portfolio-worthy series that could be pitched to independent fashion magazines like *Jocks & Nerds* or *10 Men*.
