This project invites a director to curate and film a one-day event that turns the iconic Northern Quarter into an immersive live art gallery. Over the course of a weekend, we will collaborate with local street artists and performers to create temporary installations, live paintings, and interactive performances in hidden alleyways, vintage shops, and courtyard spaces. The event will be documented to produce a compelling short film that captures the energy and creativity of Manchester's independent arts scene. What makes this unique is the fusion of traditional street art with live performance elements—think a dancer responding to a mural being painted in real-time, or a spoken word artist performing from a balcony overlooking a bustling street. The project leverages current trends in experiential art and social media-friendly content, while celebrating Manchester's rich cultural heritage. The director will oversee both the live event and the film production, ensuring a cohesive vision that results in a portfolio-worthy piece.
