This project is a triptych of dance films, each chapter set in a different city, exploring how place shapes identity. In New York, we'll capture the relentless energy of Times Square, where a lone dancer's controlled chaos mirrors the city's pulse. In Miami, the vibrant Art Deco pastels of South Beach become a canvas for fluid, sensual movement that echoes the ocean's rhythm. In LA, the stark, expansive views from Griffith Observatory inspire a piece about isolation and aspiration against the backdrop of the city sprawl. What makes this unique is its raw, site-specific approach—no studios, no stages. Each film will be shot on location, using natural light and ambient sound to create an intimate, immersive experience. The project leverages the current trend of 'dance on screen' popularized by social media, but elevates it with cinematic production values and a narrative thread that celebrates the diverse character of these three American metropolises. The final output will be a cohesive trilogy, each chapter standing alone yet together forming a powerful exploration of urban life.
