This project is a 3-minute 'city portrait' film that explores the unique, bohemian energy of Manchester's Northern Quarter. The concept is to blend intimate, 'slice-of-life' vignettes of local artisans, musicians, and independent shop owners with striking, slow-cinema shots of the area's famous street art and red-brick architecture. The film will focus on the contrast between the historic, industrial architecture and the vibrant, contemporary creative scene that defines the neighbourhood today. What makes this project unique is its immersive, almost sensory approach β using diegetic sound (the hum of a vintage record shop, the sizzle of a street food vendor, the rhythm of a live drum circle in Stevenson Square) as the primary soundtrack. The director will capture candid moments that feel authentic and unscripted, creating a love letter to a district that is both the cityβs creative heart and a living museum of its music and art history. The final film is designed to be a portfolio piece for the director and a potential branded content piece for local arts organizations or the Manchester tourism board.
