Launch during Art Basel Miami Beach week (early December)
This project reimagines Miami's iconic Art Deco architecture as a living canvas for augmented reality art. A team of artists and technologists will create six site-specific AR murals that appear on the facades of landmark buildings like the Colony Hotel and the Breakwater, accessible via a free mobile web app. Each mural tells a story of Miami's 1920s boom—the glamour, the diversity, the resilience—through vibrant animations, 3D elements, and soundscapes triggered by geolocation. The experience is designed to be walkable, educational, and Instagrammable, bridging the gap between physical heritage and digital creativity. The creative vision is to blend the past and future of Miami: the geometric lines of Art Deco meet glitch art, neon gradients, and interactive storytelling. Unlike static street art, these murals will only exist in the digital realm, allowing for bold experimentation without permanent alteration of historic buildings. The project also includes a behind-the-scenes documentary short and a physical zine, creating a multi-platform portfolio piece that showcases the intersection of art, tech, and placemaking. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Miami's cultural tourism while pushing the boundaries of public art. The final experience will launch during Art Basel Miami Beach week, attracting local and international audiences and offering significant exposure for all collaborators.
