Project Brief

This project is a visual exploration of contrast and connection between the urban pulse of London and the serene landscapes of Surrey. The concept follows a single model (or small cast) as they journey from a gritty, iconic London location—such as the Barbican Centre or beneath Waterloo Bridge—to the sprawling, manicured grounds of a Surrey country estate like Painshill Park or Hampton Court's gardens. Each location change informs a costume and styling shift, representing a change in 'tribe' or subculture. The narrative is loosely docu-style, capturing the model in transit and in moments of stillness, highlighting the tension and harmony between built environment and nature, city and countryside. What makes this unique is its specific use of London and Surrey as co-stars, leveraging the available talent's dual skills in acting and modelling to bring a subtle, performed narrative to the editorial fashion format. The final deliverables will be a series of striking editorial images and a short, lo-fi video piece suitable for social media and portfolio use, embracing current trends in 'place-based' storytelling and hybrid fashion-content.
