This project creates a one-of-a-kind, two-part live event series that celebrates the creative reawakening of Hull (UK City of Culture 2017) and its link to London’s vibrant arts landscape. The first event takes place in a repurposed warehouse in Hull’s Fruit Market district, featuring a curated night of live spoken word, street art installations, and a DJ set by a local artist. One week later, the same core team and concept travels to London’s Hackney Wick to host a second, expanded edition incorporating pop-up galleries, interactive digital projections, and a live podcast recording. The events will be documented for a mini-series of social content, while the live stream of the London finale will be broadcast on an emerging digital arts platform. The project leverages the ‘travelling festival’ trend and the resurgence of intimate, community-driven live experiences. It’s designed to be a showcase of how small teams can create high-impact, culturally relevant events across two distinct cities. By blending Hull’s industrial grit and friendly community vibe with London’s fast-paced, trend-setting energy, the project creates a narrative of creative migration and collaboration. The final deliverables are a promotional teaser, a highlight reel, and a published photo essay capturing the contrast and commonalities between the two events.
