This project captures the soul of three iconic American cities after dark, using a dreamlike, hyper-saturated aesthetic to blur the line between reality and imagination. In New York, we follow a lone dancer through the glowing canyons of Times Square and the reflective puddles of a rain-slicked alley. In Miami, a muralist brings a massive, phosphorescent mural to life on a Wynwood wall, the paint seeming to move and breathe under blacklight. In LA, a vintage car cruises the neon strip of Sunset Boulevard, its driver a silent observer of the city's nocturnal theater. Each city segment is a standalone visual vignette, but together they form a triptych that explores themes of solitude, creation, and escape in the modern metropolis. The film will be driven by a custom, ambient electronic score that weaves the sounds of each city—subway rumbles, ocean waves, distant freeway hum—into a cohesive sonic landscape. The final piece is a 5-7 minute short film optimized for social media (vertical and horizontal cuts) and festival submission. What makes this unique is its collaborative, location-specific authenticity: each city’s segment will be created by local talent who know the hidden corners and secret lights of their hometown. The project leverages the current trend of ‘liminal space’ and ‘dreamcore’ aesthetics, but grounds them in the real, tactile energy of New York, Miami, and LA.
