Thames Echoes is a groundbreaking visual arts project that combines documentary filmmaking, photography, and projection mapping to create a mesmerizing outdoor installation along the River Thames. The project will gather visual material—from mudlarking finds to time-lapse footage of the tidal river—and weave it into a looped projection that will be displayed on the river's retaining walls at night during low tide. The installation will be accompanied by a short experimental documentary that documents the process and the river's untold narratives. The creative vision is to highlight the Thames as a living, breathing entity that has shaped London's history and continues to inspire contemporary culture. By using projection mapping onto the historic river walls, we will create a dialogue between past and present, inviting viewers to see the river in a new light. The project is unique because it is ephemeral, site-specific, and engages the public in a shared experience that blends art, technology, and local heritage. This project leverages current trends in immersive public art and digital storytelling, making it portfolio-worthy for all involved. It is achievable within 4 weeks with a small team of 4-5 creatives, using accessible equipment and locations that are iconic to London.
