Project Brief

This project reimagines the silent disco as a mindful, immersive event. Instead of a club night, we transform the iconic Salford Quays waterfront into a collective sound bath. Attendees wear wireless headphones and are guided through a 90-minute audio journey—part ambient soundscape recorded from Manchester landmarks (trams, rain on cobbles, the Lowry’s hum), part live binaural beats and spoken word. The visual element is a slow, evolving projection mapping onto the Lowry’s exterior and the water itself, referencing Manchester’s canal history and cotton trade in abstract, flowing light. What makes this unique is the fusion of live performance (a sound healer playing singing bowls on a floating platform) with pre-produced cinematic audio. The event is fully seated (beanbags on the quayside), creating a rare moment of collective stillness in the city centre. It’s portfolio-worthy for its cross-disciplinary blend: event design, audio production, projection mapping, and community wellness. The final output includes an edited highlight film and an audio-only release designed for at-home listening.
