This project captures the eerie beauty of Surrey’s River Wey and London’s South Bank through a music film that follows a lone performer. The narrative weaves between the two locations, using the contrast of natural decay and urban geometry to mirror the song’s themes of memory and loss. The artist will perform original music (or a cover reimagined) in atmospheric, one-take-style sequences. The film will be shot on a mix of vintage anamorphic glass and modern digital, with a muted colour palette punctuated by neon accents. The production team will include a director/DP, the artist, a movement director, and a sound designer. The final piece will be a 4-minute music film optimised for festival submissions and social media. What makes this unique is the hyper-local storytelling: the project specifically highlights the hidden corners of Guildford’s boathouses and the brutalist architecture of the National Theatre, creating a visual love letter to these overlooked spaces. The film will be released as a one-take-style continuous shot, with subtle edits to maintain the illusion of a live performance.
