Voices of the Silk Board is an immersive, site-specific theatre project that transforms the daily chaos of Bengaluru's most famous traffic bottleneck into a stage. We will collect real stories from commuters, auto-drivers, office-goers, and street vendors, then weave them into a series of powerful, poetic monologues. These will be performed live at the Silk Board junction and nearby Cubbon Park, blending the raw energy of the city with the intimacy of spoken word. Our creative vision is to celebrate the resilience, humor, and diversity of Bengaluru's people. The project taps into the trend of immersive and site-specific performance, moving beyond traditional theaters to engage audiences where they live and commute. The uniqueness lies in its direct source material—real voices from the city—and its location, turning a symbol of urban stress into a platform for human connection and artistic expression. The final output will be a professionally filmed performance video, edited with ambient sounds and visual overlays of the city, suitable for portfolio and social media. The live performances will be intimate, with minimal props, focusing on the performers' voices and the surrounding environment. This project is achievable by a small team of 3-6 dedicated artists within a month, and it will leave a lasting impression on audiences and collaborators alike.
