Project Brief

This project taps into the ‘local-first’ and ‘craft culture’ trends by creating a 3-4 minute stylized documentary-style social media series. The concept follows a day in the life of a local brewery owner (or head brewer) in Bewdley, as they source ingredients from the River Severn's banks, collaborate with a local artist for label design, and prepare for a community tasting event. The content will be raw, authentic, and visually rich, using handheld cameras and natural lighting to create an immersive, ‘in-the-moment’ feel. The narrative will intercut between the brewing process (close-ups of grains, steam, bubbling tanks), the creative collaboration (the artist sketching on the riverbank), and the human element (interviews with the brewer, laughing with customers). The final deliverables are two vertical-format social cuts (for TikTok/Reels) and one longer horizontal version for YouTube, designed to showcase Bewdley's unique character and the passion of its makers. What makes this unique is the hyper-local focus: using the town's actual geography (the river, the high street, the brewery's historic building) as the 'set', and leveraging the existing community event (the brewery's regular tasting night) as the climax. The project is portfolio-worthy because it demonstrates narrative storytelling, brand collaboration, and multi-platform content strategy all in one small-scale shoot.
