This project blends visual storytelling with urban art. Our small team will produce a 4-part Instagram Reel series that follows a local illustrator and graphic designer as they conceptualize and paint two large-scale murals celebrating the biodiversity of Cubbon Park and Lalbagh Botanical Garden. Each episode will capture the creative process from sketch to final brushstroke, intercut with time-lapses of the garden's flora and fauna, and interviews with park regulars about the importance of green spaces in a rapidly urbanizing city. What makes this unique is the hyper-local focus. Instead of generic nature art, the murals will feature specific species found in these parks—like the Indian Roller bird or the centuries-old Lalbagh Banyan tree. The content will be optimized for Instagram's Reels algorithm, using trending audio, fast cuts, and text overlays that share fun facts about the plants and animals. The final deliverable is both a portfolio-worthy art piece and a social media campaign that positions the creators as urban conservation advocates. The project leverages the current trend of 'edutainment' content on social media, where creators merge entertainment with environmental messaging. By tagging @bbmp (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) and local nature groups, the Reels have potential for organic virality and community engagement.
