This project reimagines the Southbank Centre's iconic undercroft as a living stage, drawing inspiration from its graffiti art, skate culture, and Brutalist architecture. A small ensemble of performers will weave a narrative through live music, spoken word, and physical theatre, culminating in a single, intimate performance captured for digital audiences. The piece explores themes of urban decay and renewal, using the location's raw energy as both backdrop and character. The creative vision is to create a 'guerrilla-style' performance that feels discovered rather than staged, leveraging the natural acoustics and visual texture of the space. The final deliverable is a high-quality 5-minute film that translates the live experience, making it sharable and portfolio-ready for all collaborators. What makes this unique is its hyper-local specificity: the performance will respond to the real-time environment, incorporating ambient sounds (the rumble of trains, distant buskers) and the public's spontaneous reactions.
