Project Brief

This project transforms London's visual landscape by creating a series of site-specific street art installations that come alive through augmented reality. Each piece will be painted at a significant but often overlooked London location, depicting historical scenes or figures relevant to that spot. When viewed through a custom AR app, the static murals will animate, revealing layered narratives, archival footage, and audio testimonies about the location's hidden past. The project aims to make history tangible and interactive, turning the city into an open-air museum. What makes this unique is the hybrid approach: creating lasting physical artworks while leveraging cutting-edge AR technology to add temporal depth. We'll focus on stories of migration, cultural exchange, and social change in areas like Brick Lane, Brixton, and the Docklands. The project will culminate in a digital map and guided tour, encouraging Londoners and visitors to rediscover their city through both artistic and technological lenses. This bridges traditional visual arts with digital innovation, creating shareable, immersive experiences perfect for social media and portfolio presentation.
