This project reimagines Manchester's iconic industrial architecture as a musical instrument. The concept is to create an original, genre-bending electronic/ambient track by recording the unique sounds of a disused mill or warehouse in the city – the echo of footsteps on iron staircases, the groan of old machinery, the ambient hum of the city outside. These field recordings will be processed and woven into a live, one-take musical performance, filmed in that very location. What makes this unique is the perfect synergy of place and sound – the music isn't just inspired by Manchester, it's made *from* it. The final piece will be a high-concept music video/film that showcases the raw, acoustic soul of the city, transforming the often-ignored noise of post-industrial decay into a modern, atmospheric composition. The director will capture the performance, which will be a single, continuous shot (a 'oner'), intensifying the immersive, raw energy.
