This project reimagines Ilorin's rich history as the backdrop for a stylish, atmospheric noir short film. We follow Mallam Sule, a world-weary retired detective, as he is pulled back into a case involving a missing artifact and a decades-old conspiracy. The film juxtaposes the city's bustling traditional markets and serene, aging colonial architecture with the shadowy, tension-filled corners of its hidden alleyways. The creative vision is to capture the unique texture of Ilorin — the red dust, the calls to prayer, the intricate mud-brick patterns of the old city walls — and weave them into a visual language of high contrast, deep shadows, and deliberate pacing. This isn't a typical African film; it's a moody, character-driven piece that explores themes of legacy, decay, and the ghosts of the past. What makes it unique is the location itself, using sites like the Ilorin Emir's Palace, the University of Ilorin's older buildings, and the tranquil banks of the Asa Dam to create a sense of place that is both specific and cinematic.
