This project transforms a disused industrial space (think Ancoats or Salford) into a one-night-only, immersive art and music event. The concept fuses the raw energy of Northern Soul with contemporary neon art and interactive tech. Attendees will journey through themed zones: a '60s all-nighter soul room with a live DJ, a modern electronic/dance space, and an interactive projection-mapped gallery where local visual artists respond to the music in real-time. The event is designed to be a fully sensory experience—sight, sound, touch, and even smell (using scented installations)—blending the past and future of Manchester's nightlife. What makes this unique is its focus on grassroots collaboration. A small team will curate and produce the entire event, from sourcing the venue to building sets, programming visuals, and booking local DJs. We'll leverage Manchester's rich cultural tapestry—from the Haçienda to the working men's clubs—and give it a modern, immersive twist. The result will be a portable and photographic creative statement that showcases the city's underground spirit. The event will be documented professionally, with a highlight film and a photo series aimed at festival and event booking agents, and for our own portfolio.
