This project will document three major cultural festivals in Ilorin - the Durbar festival at the Emir's Palace, the traditional Sallah celebrations, and the Kwara State Day cultural parade - transforming them into a compelling documentary series. We'll combine professional live event coverage with intimate documentary storytelling, following festival organizers, traditional performers, and local participants to create a multi-layered portrait of Ilorin's living cultural heritage. What makes this unique is our hybrid approach: we'll stream key festival moments live on social media while simultaneously gathering material for a polished documentary series. This dual-delivery model serves both immediate community engagement and lasting archival value. We'll focus on the contrast between ancient traditions and modern celebration, highlighting how Ilorin's youth are reinventing cultural practices while honoring their roots. The project will culminate in a community screening at the Kwara State Museum.
