This project is a three-part cinematic ASMR series that reimagines Manchester's most iconic locations—the Northern Quarter, the Science and Industry Museum, and the canals of Castlefield—as immersive soundscapes. Each episode focuses on a different site, capturing the unique ambient sounds (echoes in Victorian arches, the hum of trams, water lapping against canal walls) and pairing them with high-detail, macro-driven visuals that emphasize texture and movement. The series aims to create a meditative, deeply local experience that showcases the city's character in a fresh, sensory way, tapping into the growing popularity of ASMR content and 'slow travel' aesthetics on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. The director will lead a small crew of 3-4 people, using specialized audio recording techniques (binaural mics, contact mics) and cinematic camera work (slow pans, extreme close-ups) to craft a cohesive visual and auditory language. The result will be a portfolio-worthy collection that demonstrates storytelling through sound and sight, appealing to both local audiences and global viewers interested in urban exploration and sensory content. The project also includes a BTS component, documenting the creative process for social media, to engage viewers and build anticipation.
